On-line Care Support Service (OCS)

The On-line Care Support Service (OCS) is purpose designed to the issues and effects of Social Isolation.


The service is now being made available to qualifying individuals in the Leeds area.


Volunteer beneficiaries will receive a computer, one year’s broadband service, a care/needs assessment, care plan and regular structured support.


Qualifying applicants must be 65 or over and at risk or affected by symptoms of loneliness and isolation.

Videographer Volunteer

The role of the Videographer is to digitally record candidate interviews and training sessions.

As a volunteer Videographer you will be provided with a video camera and accessories.

You will be engaged to digitally record all meetings and accompany CSOs and PC trainers to conduct filming of sessions.

You will also be required to provide a brief write up for each shoot.

Time commitment 4 – 6 hours weekly

Guidance/training is provided at start.

Placement Opportunities

CARE SUPPORT OUTREACH  

VOLUNTEER

As a Care Support Outreach Volunteer  you can come from any background. 


You will be engaged to visit people over the age of 65 at their home or place of residence. 


You will conduct an interview of not more than one hour with the candidate, record the interview and complete the survey form.


You should be comfortable working with vulnerable people from all backgrounds and available to work by appointment.


Guidance, Support and Training is provided.

Reimbursable expenses: Local travel £5.00 Lunch allowance £5.00

INDIVIDUAL NEEDS ASSESSMENT  

VOLUNTEER

An (INAV) can come from any background, however candidates should command a good level of English and a disciplined professional outlook.


INAVs will be provided with the appropriate training in care planning for them to produce an Individual Care Plan for the beneficiary as well as perform follow up visits to evaluate and review progress.


After training, applicants should be prepared to conduct an on-line initial care assessment – up to 2 hours, produce a care plan and carry out on-line quarterly follow-up visits. 


Ongoing guidance and support provided.

DBS certification On-Line

IN-HOME PC TRAINER 

VOLUNTEER

An In-home PC Trainer Volunteer can come from any background but ideally have an interest in computers and happy to teach others.


After completing training, you will be engaged to visit beneficiaries at their home or residence to provide comprehensive computer training to the individual.


Mandatory courses:

Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults - 3 Hours On-Line

Computers and Internet for Beginners Certificate - 15 hours On-Line

Equality and Diversity Training - 2 Hours On-Line

DBS certification On-Line


Applicants should be prepared to commit 6 hours weekly for a 12 week period.

ON-LINE CARE ASSISTANT 

VOLUNTEER

The role of the Individual Care Assistance volunteer or Support Worker is to provide personal and moral support on any issue, assist with matters of individual wellbeing, and provide the beneficiary  with an opportunity to maintain sustained independent living and wellbeing.


As a general description, the (ICA’s) role encompasses everything from just being a good friend to an informed facilitator.


Applicants should be able to commit to 4-6 hours monthly for a 12 month period and ideally happy to undertake any further training or relevant courses.


After training, you should be prepared to conduct hour long, on-line, monthly visits with beneficiaries.


Must have own computer.
